Leca clay stones are lightweight, porous pellets made from expanded clay—a natural material fired at high temperatures to create air pockets within the balls. These air pockets make leca an excellent growing medium that promotes superior drainage and aeration compared to traditional soil. When used in potting, leca allows water to drain freely while maintaining moisture in the tiny air pockets, creating an ideal environment for root development. The porous structure encourages beneficial microbial activity and prevents soil compaction over time. Leca is also inert, meaning it won't break down or decompose, making it a long-lasting, reusable growing medium that can be rinsed and repurposed between plantings. Leca works particularly well for indoor plants, hydroponic systems, and semi-hydroponic setups. It's especially beneficial for plants sensitive to overwatering, as the excellent drainage reduces the risk of root rot. The medium is also pH-neutral and free from pathogens, creating a clean foundation for healthy plant growth. Whether you're repotting a houseplant or experimenting with alternative growing methods, leca clay stones offer a sustainable, effective solution that supports thriving roots and vibrant plants.

Why choose Frondly?

  • See the plants we have.

We regularly take photos of each new batch of plants at our in-house studio to ensure that the plant you receive is nearly identical to the one you see online.

  • Living room ready.

Before delivery, we clean and prune your plants so they are ready to be displayed in your home. Cleaner leaves also absorb more sunlight, key for optimal plant health.

I LOVE Fondly plant store!!!!! I bought alot of plants the only one didn't died on me was Grace but my cat destroyed x2 of Grace (yes my cat destroyed the second Grace plant along with my dishes). I love the service and delivery is awesome, the politeness and the understanding the helpfulness etc. I am planning to buy more plants but I am trying to figure out where to put them but tape the bottom of the pots? I did wrote a first review its same thing this place is awesome. If only im not bad with plants kinda and my cat isn't bad then the whole pet friendly category plants will be all over my apartment (I am secretly trying to make it happen) the picture is a BEFORE picture before grace destroyed by my cat and the ledge was only temporary.
