Leca clay stones are lightweight, porous pellets made from expanded clay—a natural material fired at high temperatures to create air pockets within the balls. These air pockets make leca an excellent growing medium that promotes superior drainage and aeration compared to traditional soil. When used in potting, leca allows water to drain freely while maintaining moisture in the tiny air pockets, creating an ideal environment for root development. The porous structure encourages beneficial microbial activity and prevents soil compaction over time. Leca is also inert, meaning it won't break down or decompose, making it a long-lasting, reusable growing medium that can be rinsed and repurposed between plantings. Leca works particularly well for indoor plants, hydroponic systems, and semi-hydroponic setups. I recently visited Frondly Plants for the first time, and I was extremely impressed. I don’t know the name of the person who helped me, but she was fantastic. She was warm and pleasant, clearly very knowledgeable, and gave me excellent advice. She also did a wonderful job repotting my Japanese fern into a larger pot.

I was particularly impressed by the quality of the plants throughout the store. Everything looked exceptionally healthy and well cared for, and there were so many beautiful plants that I would have been happy taking almost any one of them home.

My Japanese fern is doing very well in its new pot, and I absolutely love it.

The combination of knowledgeable, friendly service and such high-quality plants made my first visit a terrific experience. I can and will highly recommend Frondly Plants to friends and family looking for beautiful, healthy indoor plants and genuinely excellent service.
