Leca clay stones are lightweight, porous pellets made from expanded clay—a natural material fired at high temperatures to create air pockets within the balls. These air pockets make leca an excellent growing medium that promotes superior drainage and aeration compared to traditional soil. When used in potting, leca allows water to drain freely while maintaining moisture in the tiny air pockets, creating an ideal environment for root development.
