Leca clay stones are lightweight, porous pellets made from expanded clay—a natural material fired at high temperatures to create air pockets within the balls. These air pockets make leca an excellent growing medium that promotes superior drainage and aeration compared to traditional soil. When used in potting, leca allows water to drain freely while maintaining moisture in the tiny air pockets, creating an ideal environment for root development. The porous structure encourages beneficial microbial activity and prevents soil compaction over time. Leca is also inert, meaning it won't break down or decompose, making it a long-lasting, reusable growing medium that can be rinsed and repurposed between plantings. Leca works particularly well for indoor plants, hydroponic systems, and semi-hydroponic setups. Great advice and plant for a beginner
