Alex Barrera is a Mexican Canadian artist with a focus on sculpting the soul of nature and landscapes into one-of-a-kind pots primarily for cacti and succulents. Nestled in the heart of beautiful Vancouver, Alex embraced his pottery journey in the summer of 2022. His penchant for trying new things is evident in his art as is his love of nature, which plays a large role in his inspiration for the design of his hand-made planters, bringing a touch of earthy elegance into every home.

Filled with inspiration from the landscapes seen in his travels, he transforms clay into plant vessels that resemble the beauty of the natural habitat of many plant species across the world.

Each piece is carefully crafted and asks to be noticed and examined. It is his intention for each Thirsty Pot to be unique.

I needed multiple indoor trees and planters for a Presentation Center I was working on and Chad and his team were super friendly and helpful. They helped me choose the plants and put them in the pots to see how they would look. They were able to deliver on short notice and installed the plants on site.
