Ever had the urge to move to the tropics and sip fruity cocktails on the beach for the rest of your life? Well, having a bird of paradise in your home is about as close as you can get to that without all the drama of uprooting your family and leaving your life behind. 

Also known as Strelitzia Nicolai, White Bird of Paradise, Banana Leaf Plant.

Care

Difficulty Beginner. Adaptable, easy to care for and grow.

Light High light. Place this plant in a location where it will have a wide view of the sky, preferably with some exposure (2+ hours) to direct sun each day most of the year. Not suitable for low light spaces.

Water Check soil moisture weekly using your finger or a moisture meter and water thoroughly when the top 50-75% of soil is dry. In average household conditions, this will be approximately every 7-10 days and longer in the winter.

Soil Use a blend of 75% Tropical Mix with 25% Perlite.

Other Leaf splits, especially on a mature plant like this one, is a natural trait of this plant. If you see some splits in the leaves, there's no cause for concern as this is an adaptation that the plant has developed to handle strong winds in the wild.

  • Delivery is FREE for all orders over $75
  • Most orders arrive within 3 business days from the date it was placed, up to a maximum of 5 business days.*

*If you need your order sooner (or later), send an email with your request to hello@frondlyplants.com and we will do our best to accommodate you.

What to expect on delivery

  • All plants are delivered by our local delivery team to ensure that they arrive in perfect condition.
  • You do not need to be at home for us to make your delivery as long as we have access to your building via a buzzer code, concierge, or the front door of your house.*
  • You will receive notifications via email and sms once your delivery has been scheduled, when it is on its way, and once it has been successfully delivered.
  • If there are any issues making your delivery, our driver will be in touch with you directly to coordinate.
  • If we are unable to complete your delivery, we will contact you to coordinate another attempt. There is no cost for redelivery.

*If you require any special accommodations for delivery, please leave a note in the delivery instructions at checkout, or send an email to hello@frondlyplants.com once your order is placed and we will do everything we can to meet your request.

Returns

  • Plants may be returned within 7 days from the date of delivery, and pots and accessories within 30 days.
  • Plants that have been repotted into a decorative pot are not eligible for return.
  • Return pickup is FREE
  • To initiate a return, please email hello@frondlyplants.com
  • We will work with your schedule to arrange the return and our local team will collect the return within 3-5 business days.
  • A full refund will be provided once the items are collected.
